Christmas In An Old Converted Church

 Chatelaine

Alison Westlake of Toronto-based floral studio, Coriander Girl, is living the charmed life in an 1887 converted church in pastoral Ontario. Like her quaint flower shop, she has adapted a pale, vintage white, rustic style for her home. She uses the same decor aesthetic when decorating for Christmas. Soaring white walls with rustic, worn flooring are complimented by natural elements like evergreens and simple bunches of cedar tied with twine. Simple cardboard boxes add a natural touch to vintage decor pieces. A subtle myrtle wreath hangs on a peaked window in her all-white kitchen. Live evergreen trees potted in galvanized buckets and tins and surrounded by natural moss are placed on and around her one-of-a-kind furniture pieces salvaged at local antique stores. A mixture of indoor plants decorated with festive ornaments and winter berries add touches of holiday cheer. Natural, rustic and winter white. Alison's style in her old converted rural church is the perfect backdrop for a magical Christmas.
