Classic Swedish Tiled Stoves

An amazing classic and common element in Swedish interiors is the elongated column-shaped tile stove called a Kakelugn. Kakelugnar date back to the 18th century. They were essential in keeping Nordic homes warm during the cold winter months. They are still very popular and fashionable in modern Scandinavian interiors. Some are sleek, more boxy and contemporary, but many have retained the classic vintage look. Regardless of the design style, they are a beautiful feature that adds an elegant historical touch to every Scandinavian room. Here are some of my favorites...
